Catalytic Converter
A Catalytic Converter is an emissions device which resembles a small muffler. Inside is a ceramic or metal honeycomb which is coated with 3 metals, Platinum, Palladium and Rhodium. At high temperatures these precious metals cause a catalytic reaction which converts harmful exhaust gases into less harmful gases, which are better for the environment.
Original Equipment Catalytic Converters generally have 400 cells per square inch inner core. Our High Flow Catalytic Converters have 200 cells per square inch, greatly improving the flow of exhaust gases.
Our national laws state that if you have a Catalytic Converter in the original system, you are required to have a Catalytic Converter in any aftermarket, or standard replacement exhaust system. Different states enforce the law to varying degrees.
We offer both “With” or “Without” Catalytic Converter exhaust systems. We fit our exhausts with a quality High Flow, 200 Cell Diesel specific metal Catalytic Converter.

Sound Option (Volume)
Our single 3” exhaust systems have 3 choices of sound level: Pipe Only (Loud), Resonator (Moderate) or Large Muffler (Quiet). These components are available to purchase separately & are interchangeable should you want to change the exhaust note of your system. .
Pipe Only - will have a loud note depending on the vehicle & engine. On V8’s the sound is good; however, on 4, 5 & 6-cylinder diesel the note can be very loud. A Pipe Only system will not comply with current sound level legislation.
Resonator - will give a moderate note. This is our most popular option except for customers that tow frequently. Resonators are on the borderline when it comes to compliance and may not be legal.
Large Muffler - will be quiet, & usually a nicer note than standard. Ideal for customers that tow regularly. This option will be compliant.
There is no difference in performance between these three options as our Resonators & Large Mufflers are of a “Straight Through” design for optimum performance.
Our 76 & 79 Twin Systems have 2 options for sound – Pipe Only & Twin Resonator.
Our 200 series Twin Systems have 3 options, Pipe Only, one muffler or two mufflers.
